Poppy day appeal

During Covid-19 sadly, we could not access trips.

However now it is safer, we are exploring ways to provide well-organised and executed educational visits and off site opportunities which provide our pupils with valuable experiences which enhance their learning at school.

We believe that out of schools opportunities provide a variety of ‘real-life’ opportunities for our children enabling them to achieve a fuller understanding of the world around them through direct experience.  Educational visits and outdoor learning are an essential element of good primary practice.

Educational Visits can provide stimulus and support to work being covered as part of the school curriculum.

  • To complement and enrich the curriculum.
  • To encourage enjoyment in the children.
  • To provide first-hand experience and widen the children’s horizons.
  • To boost self-esteem and motivation, thereby raising achievement.
  • To act as a starting point or ‘drawing together’ experience.
  • Wherever or whatever the venue, teachers should ensure that the educational benefits to the children are maximised.
