6ES - Manaus

Welcome to our class page!

To see what we have been learning about recently, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

This is what we are learning about this half term (Spring 1):

Manaus class have continued with their fantastic attitude towards their learning this half term. I have been really impressed with their efforts particularly with their presentation - scroll down to see some examples!

Our class name comes from the book "Journey to the River Sea" that we have read in class. It is based in Brazil and the Amazon rainforest.

Our weekly timetable has changed slightly since the first half term.

This is an updated version:

Our PE day is Tuesday. Please ensure the children bring their kit in and that they can remove their own earrings - we are not allowed to tape them!

Our morning maths sessions run every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8am. These sessions are really helpful if the children would like any extra support in any areas or if they would like an extra challenge. Free breakfast and a drink is also provided. We have had fantastic attendance so far and we've had some great feedback from the children.

Our recent gymnastics work. The children have been working together brilliantly at counter balancing using tension, balancing and moving in synchronisation and canon and also putting sequences together!

Our latest science experiment. We had a great time testing our lung capacity!

We enjoyed our active science lesson. In teams, we had to race to label all of the organs in the body as well as a diagram of the circulatory system.

As part of our science topic - classification - we classified different types of leaves that we collected from the nature area. We also enjoyed making leaf rubbings and discussing their features!

Year 6 Lunch Club - Camp Building

Year 6 - Enjoyed their RE lesson on Rosh Hashanah today. Everyone loved tasting the apples and honey.

Year 6 - Playpod 2018

Year 6 - A great turn out to our first morning maths session of 2018!

Year 6 - Active Learning with Mrs Carter 2018. All of year 6 went into the hall to do a "Talk For Writing" session based on a story called Elv. We learnt the whole story off by heart as well as learning techniques to build up tension in our own stories.

At Rolleston we are committed to safeguarding our children
