This term, the children in both Camelot and Avalon class have really impressed us with their positive attitude towards their learning. They are becoming much more resilient and are taking a real pride in their work. This has been commented on by lots of members of staff. Well done year 6!

Curriculum:

In literacy, we are basing our work on Goodnight Mr Tom. We have written diaries, recounts and we are looking forward to writing a persuasive leaflet about Little Weirwold. In numeracy we are working hard on all areas of maths in order to prepare ourselves for the SATS style questions. In history we are really enjoying learning about World War 2. We have learnt about evacuees and we have loved reading Goodnight Mr Tom to support our learning.

A date for your diary: Year 6 trip to Beaumanor - 22nd February. We are very excited! Pictures to follow after the trip!

PE day is Thursday. Please ensure the children have appropriate kit (white top and dark shorts or trousers) and that they are not wearing jewellery. Outdoor shoes will be necessary very soon as the weather gets nicer!

A meeting was held on Monday 2nd May 2018 to inform parents about the SATs, what we were doing and how they could support their child.
